It is the sixth year of New Zealand's only inter-high school spoken word poetry slam! 

WORD - The Front Line showcases extremely talented spoken word poets in a team slam extravaganza. Welcome to the poetry Olympics! 

Not an easy battle, the competition started with over 200 young people from 42 teams from schools, from right across Auckland. After making it through the grueling semi-final heats,  the top six high schools are now set to share their stories in an explosion of youth expression. 

Featured on The Project, Maori Television, RNZ, and The Hui, WORD- The Front Line is the only creative battlefield of its kind, equipping young people with poetry prowess for an opportunity to battle it out and confront the challenges that their generation faces.
