The World Choir Games is the biggest choral competition and festival on the globe and this is your window into it’s heart….

With choirs competiting in 28 different categories there is something for everyone on every day. Some choirs sing a programme of four varied songs; others enter specialist categories, like pop, jazz, gospel, contemporary and sacred music, as well as the fabulous folk and indigenous sections, where choirs often sing and dance in traditional dress. Every session is competitive but friendly, and thoroughly engrossing – a feast for the ears and eyes!

With a Day Pass you can stay in one place and gorge on your favourite kind of music, or mix your courses across a couple of venues, or even dart between all of them to sample as much of our choral smorgasbord as possible!

The competition runs from 9am until after 9pm for three days of each Part (half) of the Games. One Day Pass will allow you enjoy and support your choice of choirs competing on that day, and with all venues within a short stroll of each other, you'll certainly be spoiled for choice.

Entry to venues is on a first-come, first-served basis and doors are closed during the singing, but vacant seats can be filled at the end of each choir’s performance.

 

More than 11,000 participants from over 30 countries will arrive in Auckland to compete, to enjoy workshops, ceremonies and evening concerts in the city, and to give free daytime concerts throughout Tāmaki Makaurau.

The participating choirs will bring a huge variety of musical styles from every region of the world, providing audiences with a two-week feast for both the eyes and the ears.
