Pasefika immigrants to Aotearoa NZ of the 1950’s - 70’s had a list of dreams for whanau - but opera singer wasn’t on it. Today Pasefika opera singers are global. But it wasn’t always this way. At the finale of the Te Ahurei Toi o Tāmaki Auckland Arts Festival we take you back to where it all began, with a once in a lifetime concert with the pioneers of Pacific opera, The O.Gs. Coming home to sing and to share their stories is a veritable who’s who of opera.
