Ticket Limit

There is a strict limit of ten (10) tickets per customer during the pre-sale and general on sale for this event. Persons who exceed the ticket limit may have any or all of their orders and tickets cancelled without notice. This includes orders associated with the same name, e-mail address, billing address, credit card number or other information.


Latecomers Policy

Patrons arriving late will not be admitted into the auditorium until a suitable break in the performance. Latecomers may not be seated in their ticketed seat, but in an alternate area nearer an entrance where minimal disruption will be caused to seated attendees. This is at the discretion of the venue staff.


Babies in Arms Policy

Children under 2 years of age will be admitted free of charge if they are seated on a caregiver’s knee. A lap ticket must be obtained this from the Box Office before entry. If over 2-years-old, a ticket must be purchased.


Recording and Photography Policy

Photography, video and sound recordings of any kind are strictly prohibited during the performance.


Audio Described Performance: Thursday 28 November 2024 at 7.30pm

This performance of The Lord of the Rings - A Musical Tale is Audio Described. Patrons will listen to trained audio describers broadcasting live commentary during the show, which they will hear through a supplied earpiece. There are seats reserved for blind or low vision patrons and their companions.  There will be a free touch tour on stage prior to the show.  Tickets for these seats are at a discounted price of $69.00 (plus service fees) and a companion ticket is available at the same price if required. Guide dogs are welcomed, but please notify staff upon booking your ticket.

The performance is 2 hours 55 minutes including a 20-minute interval. The Lord of the Rings: A Musical Tale is suitable for all audiences and best enjoyed by ages 8 and up. This show includes the use of haze, strobe lighting and theatrical blackouts.


NZSLI Performance: Friday 29 November at 7.30pm

This performance of The Lord of the Rings - A Musical Tale is NZSL interpreted. During the performance, trained interpreters will be positioned on stage with the performers. Tickets for these seats are at a discounted price of $79.00 (plus service fees) and a companion ticket is available at the same price if required. These seats are reserved for d/Deaf patrons wishing to attend the NZSL interpreted performance with a clear view of the stage and interpreters. 

Introductory notes in NZSL will be given to attendees in the Taj Mahal Room, The Civic at 6:15pm. The performance is 2 hours 50 minutes including a 20-minute interval. The Lord of the Rings: A Musical Tale is suitable for all audiences and best enjoyed by ages 8 and up. This show includes the use of haze, strobe lighting and theatrical blackouts.
