Bring a giant two-storey high puppet to life!
String Symphony is a large-scale, interactive performance installation by Spare Parts Puppet Theatre that uses puppetry to explore connection, community and collaboration.
Hand-woven using more than one kilometre of rope, the giant illuminated puppet is waiting to be brought to life with your help. Work together with twelve fellow puppeteers to animate this enchanting spectacle, taking turns to pull the strings and enliven the towering handwoven creature.
Think you've got what it takes to come and be a puppeteer? We'll see you in Aotea Square!
ABOUT THE PUPPET
Leor is the name of the giant puppet. At night, 600+ LED lights inside the puppet illuminate the 4-metre tall marionette that is suspended from a 5-metre truss cube. The 12 strings are used to operate Leor under the direction of Spare Parts Puppet Theatre’s professional puppeteers.
