Consider yourself at home with Lionel Bart's classic musical based on Charles Dickens' novel, Oliver Twist.
Lionel Bart’s Oliver! takes audiences on a wild adventure through Victorian England. Join young, orphaned Oliver as he navigates the London’s underworld, searching for a home - a family!
When Oliver is picked up on the street by a boy named the Artful Dodger, he is welcomed into a gang of child pickpockets led by the conniving, but charismatic, Fagin. When Oliver is falsely accused of a theft he didn’t commit, he is rescued by a kind and wealthy gentleman, to the dismay of Fagin’s violent sidekick, Bill Sikes. Caught in the middle is the warm-hearted Nancy, who is trapped under Bill’s thumb, but desperate to help Oliver.
Lionel Bart’s lush, magical score is full of irresistible songs including “Food Glorious Food,” “Consider Yourself,” “You’ve Got to Pick a Pocket or Two,” “I’d Do Anything,” “As Long As He Needs Me,” “Where is Love” and many more.
National Youth Theatre’s production will feature a cast of over 250 of Auckland’s young performers from all over the Auckland region, they will bring these classic characters and score to life.
Warm your heart, and your soul with the perfect family musical – OLIVER! The Tony Award-Winning musical comes to the Aotea Centre for a strictly limited season of only four public performances.
