Skate against the backdrop of downtown Auckland and experience the magic of this icy white playground. 

For the first time, this winter an all-new Ice Bar will be open to adults with cocktails and children with mocktails to provide a little haven and somewhere to rest after skating. 

While you’re there be sure to visit the stunning Pou Rama (Light Posts) in Aotea Square, illuminated throughout Matariki Festival.

Pou Rama 

Inspired by pouwhenua (land symbols of support), this series of free-standing light structures represents creative wairua (inspiration) which is generated from te taiao (the environment). The Whakairo designs express cycles of creativity, and connections to place. 

Designed by Storybox in collaboration with visual artist Desna Whaanga-Schollum (Rongomaiwahine, Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Pahauwera) and featured in both LUX Light Festival and Bright Nights. 

Ice Bar

Step inside the all-new Frozen Ice Bar and escape to a faraway place with ice sculptures, activations and family activities. 

The Ice Bar will be your private haven – only open to 15 people at a time. Your ticket will gain entry to the ice bar for up to 25 minutes and will include a beverage (mocktail or cocktail).
