The final concert of the Free Organ Concert Series will take advantage of New Zealand’s borders reopening and welcome the return of Melbourne’s Thomas Heywood.
Heywood was one of the first organists to play the new Klais organ, just a month after it was inaugurated in 2010. He returns to Auckland having played a major part in celebrating the Melbourne Town Hall’s 150th anniversary.
His inimitable style will be remembered by all who heard him.
The programme will include orchestra and opera favourites transcribed by Heywood himself as well as Bach’s Gigue Fugue, Guilmant’s Grand Choeur Alla Handel and music from Westminster Abbey.
This concert is presented free of any admission charge, however seats must be booked at Moshtix. Koha is always appreciated as you leave the concert.
