Elemental Hub

This July, Aotea Square is transformed into the hub of Tāmaki Makaurau’s sizzling new winter festival, Elemental AKL. Introducing the Elemental Hub, basecamp for Elemental AKL and alight from 1 – 28 July with entertainment, food and unique interactive experiences for all.

 

Hot in the Hub is the Aotea Square Ice Rink and Ice Slide, the perennial magical winter playground for kids and grownups, now in its eighth year bang smack in the middle of the city. (Opens 21 June!)

When it’s time to get toasty again, BOX Container Bar is right next door. Grab a table in the new covered courtyard, enjoy live music and soak up the hum of the Hub. 

For the coolest private dining experience in town, book yourself a cosy winter Snug! Kitted out with comfy furniture, blankets and heaters, the five geodesic domes make the perfect spots for sharing an intimate winter catch-up with friends, team lunches, birthday parties or pre-show meals.

Presiding over the Square, the Auckland Live Digital Stage will be screening visual delights from the worlds of the arts in New Zealand and around the world.

Nights in the Hub will be especially chill with the arrival of the Auckland Night Markets for the very first time in Aotea Square. The city’s favourite immersive food experience will be offering authentic cuisine from all over the world at street-food prices.

Open until late every day from 1-28 July, the Elemental Hub is the perfect place to sample the best of what Auckland has to offer this winter.
