Accessibility:
DARKFIELD: SÉANCE AND FLIGHT
Can I attend a DARKFIELD show if I use a wheelchair, have partial mobility or access requirements?
SEANCE
We have a wheelchair accessible space where patrons do not have to transfer in SÉANCE which is located
close to the entrance of the container. We can also add an additional chair should patrons not feel
comfortable in the house seats. Our staff are always able to meet access patrons ahead of showtime to
allow sufficient time to transfer from a wheelchair and for patrons with mobility issues to take a seat.
FLIGHT
In FLIGHT we do not have a dedicated space for patrons to remain in their wheelchair and it requires a full
seat transfer with tight dimensions and the turning of a corner when entering. Patron’s also have to
maneuver themselves over an immovable arm rest. They can access the container whilst in their chair via
the use of a ramp.
Please let the us know ahead of time to book an access ticket so we can prepare the space. If you have
specific access needs, let us know in advance and we can advise how the experience can be adjusted for
you - please get in touch with us at online@aucklandlive.co.nz
Is the experience suitable for people that wear hearing aids?
The experience uses over ear headphones, and loud audio at times, which may be uncomfortable for patrons with hearing aids. For more information contact us at online@aucklandlive.co.nz
Is the experience suitable for people that are hard of hearing or deaf?
The large majority of this experience relies on audio, and it specifically relies on binaural sound, which means that different audio feeds from the left to right ear. Guests with limited hearing, or no hearing, may not be able to fully experience DARKFIELD. For more information or for special requests contact us at online@aucklandlive.co.nz
Can service dogs attend DARKFIELD?
Service dogs may be allowed in our containers at our discretion. The dog will need to be comfortable sitting in the dark for 20-30 minutes with occurrences of loud subwoofers and vibrations happening at random, including sudden floor and chair movements. We recommend your dog wear ear protection if you have it for them while in the container.
What are the accessibility options for someone that is vision impaired?
We can provide visually impaired audience members with brief visual descriptions of the containers’ insides before the experience goes completely dark. To utilise this offer, please contact online@aucklandlive.co.nz 48 hours in advance to arrange this option.
