Parking and transport

Parking

Spark Arena has no public parking on site, and we encourage the use of public transport! However, for those who choose to drive, there are approximately 7,000 carparks within a 1.2km radius.

The closest carpark buildings are as follows:

Arena Car Park (Dockside Lane, off Tapora Street, about 5 minutes walk)
Ngaoho Place (Our new, secure option off The Strand, about 10 minutes walk)
Britomart Car Park (On the corner of Quay Street and Britomart Place, about 8 minutes walk)
Railway Car Parks (Indoor & Outdoor) (Te Taou Crescent, off Beach Road, about 5 minutes walk)
Tangihua Street Car Park (Tangihua Street, about 6 minutes walk)

Public transport

Britomart station is a short 10-15 minute walk from the Arena and is on all major bus routes including the free City Circuit Bus, as well as being a railway hub. Stairs and an entrance at the eastern end of the Britomart platform will bring you out onto a walkway that will take you to Britomart Place, which leads to Beach Road and Mahuhu Crescent.

Alternatively the Beach Road stop on the Inner Link Bus Route is approximately 100m from the Arena. The Link Bus runs continuously 7 days a week.

Late rail services often run for our larger events; please check with Auckland Transports' special Spark Arena Events page nearer the date.

Food and Drink at Spark Arena

During events at Spark Arena, you'll find up to seven separate food outlets, located on both our upper and lower levels, and we vary our offerings according to the expected needs of the audience at each event. Generally, you'll find a selection of bars serving Heinken, IPA, Amstel Lite, a selection of NZ wines and a range of soft drinks and water. Hot and cold snacks are also served from several outlets around the foyers. These usually include hot chips, pizza, hot dogs, chocolate and icecream.

If you're in the mood for a pre-show sit-down meal from a more extensive menu, be sure and stop by The Tuning Fork, on the lower level of the arena and open at most events.  The Tuning Fork is also the place to find boutique beers and a larger range of wines and spirits on offer.

Accessibility

Wheelchair users have access to specially designated spots in row V in the lower bowl, accessible via the foyer elevator. Companion seating is available, and must be reserved at time of booking. Please contact Ticketmaster via email or give them a call on (09) 970 9700 to book.

The main entrance to Spark Arena is located between Beach Road and Quay Street on Mahuhu Crescent. The multiple entry points at the front of the arena are fully accessible and there is lift access from the ground floor to the second level of the arena via elevators adjacent to the box office. Additionally, Entry B permits preferential access for wheelchair users and patrons with special assistance requirements. This entrance is located alongside the box office and is nearest to the lifts.

Spark Arena has a limited number of nearby carparks designated specifically for mobility pass holder parking. These spaces however must be pre-booked, and they fill up quickly. A space can be reserved once you have your event ticket; please contact Spark Arena directly via email or via phone, on (09) 358-1250, well before the event.  Please include the registration number of your vehicle and a contact mobile number when you enquire.

Fully accessible toilets are clearly signposted and located throughout the arena on both floors.

Visually impaired guests will find tactile cues and Braille signage throughout the arena to help them, and our friendly front of house staff are happy to assist at any time during events.

A hearing assistance system is available for those with hearing impairments. The Telex ‘Sound-Mate’ comprises an FM radio transmitter base station and 10 portable radio receivers tuned to the FM transmit frequency. Audio from the receivers is heard via a lightweight headset worn by the user. The receivers are available from the Info Booth on the ground floor upon arrival. Please be aware that hookup to the system needs to be prearranged prior to the day of show (ideally at least 24 hours in advance). As always, the best idea is to contact Spark Arena  and let them know you'll require this service once you've purchased your show ticket.
